Children's museum

Earlier this week, we took some of our grandkids to the Children's Museum at the Museum of Civilization. We, our grandkids (and their parents) had a great time. It's a fine museum with many fun things for kids to do. I recommend it to visitors of Ottawa.

For those who have not seen it, the museum consists of a town with stores and shops, job and construction areas, school, etc. As for anything to do with spirituality, there were only some places that featured Shinto gods (see three pictures in this post), Egyptian deities, and Buddhist prayer walls. There was no hint of anything Christian. In an area featuring the history of writing, I did notice the Hebrew (and very biblical) word, "shalom." But there was no church. Nothing even subtly Christian.

I guess displaying a Shinto god is politically correct whereas an example of a Christian church would be offensive to many Canadians who would complain they were having religion stuffed down their throats.
