The Song of Hezekiah

 I set this song of Hezekiah (Isaiah 38:10-20) to the tune of Psalm 49 (Genevan) because of the similarity in theme of the two songs. 

God Made the Heavens and the Earth

Fred Mellink performs the tune BEGINNINGS, which the late Christiaan Nobels composed for my song on Genesis 1, "God Made the Heavens and the Earth." It is a masterful performance in which he uses a different registration (actually, seven different organs with the magic of Hauptwerk) for each of the seven stanzas representing creation week.

Zion's Daughter, Sing your Song!

This song has a somewhat similar theme to the previous one I posted, but it is based on a different text of Scripture and is more strictly a canticle. I set it to the tune the Genevan Psalter uses for Psalm 29 as I thought that was a rather joyful sounding tune, especially when it is sung rather briskly.

Mostly Canticles

I have recently published a second edition of Mostly Canticles. It can be purchased online here. 

This book consists of 54 hymns and canticles based upon texts or themes found in the Bible. The lyrics are all written by George van Popta, and the tunes are mostly in the public domain while several of them are new compositions.
