I just watched a 20 minute press conference with Paul Martin on CBC. It was pathetic. Unfortunately, I was eating my lunch at the time and now have serious indigestion.

I lost track of how often Mr. Martin made reference to "same-sex marriage" and "a woman's right to choose" (Liberalspeak for "abortion"). In these last days of the campaign, Mr. Martin is defining himself by those two issues: SSM and abortion. That's pathetic. "Hey, look at me! I'm the guy that stood up for the right of people to marry people of the same sex, and for people to abort babies. Look at me!" Quite a way for a person to define himself.

As for CBC.... I almost feel sorry for the extreme left wing people who work there. They must be in total panic mode. If the Conservatives attain office, it might not be long before someone asks: "Why do we have a state-run and funded TV station?" And people will look blankly at each other and say: "Beats me!"

The likelihood of panic at CBC-TV probably explains why they run, uninterrupted, 20 minutes of Mr. Martin blathering on about SSM and abortion. As Warren Kinsella said in his blog (and today's NP), the CBC budget ought to be considered a Liberal campgaign expense.
