Changes

Life is about changes. There are many constants (love of Christ; love of family), but there are also many changes. From year to year we go through many permutations. Today, for the first time, one of our children moved out without it being his/her wedding day. The only two that had moved out heretofore moved out on the day they got married. Today one of our children, with a friend, moved into a charming downtown apartment. We spent awhile there helping them set up a few things. Then we broke open a bottle of wine and raised a toast to them and their new home. May God bless them! Blessed, poignant changes. All is good.

Well, with the parental home moving to Ottawa, it's either move out or come along! This summer will be a huge adjustment, I'm sure. I think if I became an empty-nester rather suddenly, I would have a hard time with it. Hard for me to imagine at this point, though:)

Your house is getting quieter. But it's wonderful to see your children finding their own place and their own way in life. Indeed, blessed, poignant changes. All the best to you and your wife as you get ready to move.

Thanks!

The great news, Kevin & Amy, is that our youngest son is moving with us. He plans to be in Ottawa for two years. (As he was born there 20 years ago, there must be a pull.) And so... not empty-nesters yet, which is very good!
